PARKS & RECREATION

 

The Office of Parks and Recreation, located on the lower level of Town Hall, offers participants a wide range of activities and facilities. For a list of current recreation activities click here. The office also runs a six-week Summer Day Camp program for children ages 6-11, consisting of arts and crafts, games, sports activities, trips, and special events.

 

We accept reservations for the Senior/Community Center, Township sports fields and a Picnic Pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park. The Senior/Community Center is available for group use/party rentals. The Center can accommodate a maximum of 150 people. Several municipal parks are located throughout Holmdel, to meet the varied recreation needs of residents. For a Guide to Township Parks click here. The Picnic Pavilion can accommodate a maximum of 100 persons and can be reserved between May 1 and September 30. For additional information on reservations, please call 732-946-2820 ext. 1223.

 

Holmdel Community Day is held in October. It brings the community together for a fun-filled day of rides, foods, crafts and local organizations.

 

Under the department's auspices is the Holmdel Swim Club, which is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The facility includes four pools, snack bar, basketball court, three tennis courts, swim lessons, swim team and more. The facility is open to members only.

 

The Holmdel Tennis Center, open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, consists of eight har-tru courts for members only. Tennis lessons are available for residents and non-residents through our recreation program offerings.

 

A Half-Century Club has been established to meet the needs of our senior citizens. The club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Senior/ Community Center located on Crawfords Corner Road next to the Town Hall. There is also a Senior Drop-In program that meets on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

GENERAL INFORMATION


1. All registrations for programs, trips, Swim Club and Tennis Center must take place at the Office of Parks & Recreation in the Town Hall (cash or check), Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (except Holidays) or through the mail (checks only, (Office of Parks & Recreation, PO Box 410, Holmdel, NJ B B 07733


2. Make checks payable to: Holmdel Recreation. To avoid cancellation of a program due to insufficient registration, registration is requested one week prior to the start of program.


3. Programs are open to all Holmdel residents. The Township of Holmdel does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, and/or disability in employment or in the provision of services. If you are in need of special arrangements, please contact the Recreation Office at least two weeks in advance of the program or trip starting date.


4. Additional information regarding programs, trips, and activities may be sent out through the schools and local papers. For more information call 732-946-2820 ext. 1225.


5.  Cancellations, Late Fee & Refund Policies: If there is insufficient registration and the program is cancelled all fees will be returned. There is a $10 late fee for anyone registering after the program begins. It is the general policy of the Recreation Advisory Council that refunds are not granted. If a refund is granted, there is a $10 administrative fee.

Please be advised that the Township Parks will be undergoing field maintenance as described below:

Fertilizer and weed control will be applied as follows:

Ackerson on Saturday, May 21st

Phillips, Veterans, Allocco, Labbe and Cross Farm Softball Fields 1 & 2 on Friday, May 27th

Cross Farm Soccer Fields and Baseball Fields 3 & 4 on Tuesday, May 31st .

Due to the nature of the chemical being applied it is strongly advised to stay off of the fields for 12 hours after application.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
