The Office of Chief Financial Officer shall:
a. Receive funds entrusted to or under the
control of any department and deposit all funds
received by him/her in depositories authorized by
the Township Committee by resolution.
b. Have custody of all investments and
invested funds of the Township in fiduciary
capacity, except as otherwise provided by law, and
keep such funds and all moneys of the Township not
required for current operation safely invested or
deposited in interest-bearing accounts.
c. Have the safekeeping of all bonds and
notes of the Township and receive and deliver
Township bonds or notes for transfer, registration
or exchange.
d. Keep a full account of all cash receipts
and disbursements of the Township and, at least once
a month, furnish the Township Committee a statement
of all moneys received and expended by him/her.
e. Review, warrant and pay bills, claims
and demands against the Township when duly
authorized and approved by the Township Committee.
Disbursement shall be made by bank check or draft
individually signed by the Mayor and countersigned
by the Chief Financial Officer.
f. Prepare for each regular meeting of the
Township Committee a list of all bills, claims and
vouchers presented. Such list shall be prepared in
sufficient copies for each member of the Township
Committee and at least one (1) copy shall be filed
with the Township Clerk as a public record open to
examination in that office.
