Holmdel Township Committee Approves Feasibility Study for

                                                                                                                Lighted Artificial Turf Field

Holmdel Township, NJ – During the May 22nd Committee Meeting, votes were cast to proceed with an engineering feasibility analysis to examine the possibility of building a lighted, artificial turf field adjacent to Satz Middle School and other township owned properties, excluding Cross Farm Park. Township Committeeman, Eric Hinds led the discussion.

“Our athletes are being bused and driven to other towns to play on their lighted athletic fields,” said Hinds.  “We must do better by our athletes, their families and their fans.  We must reduce the time, expense and travel to find available fields by taking the steps needed to build a lighted, turf field here in Holmdel,” he added.

The Satz Middle School is centrally located in the heart of the Township where there are no nearby homes that would be negatively affected by the installation of night lighting on a turf field.

The Township will offer renderings and more details at the completion of the feasibility study.

Anyone with questions should contact the Holmdel Township Administrator.
